Well. I had another moment of weakness and the good/bad news is that another shipment of books is on its way to me! I blame GoodReads and their awesome “Recommendations” feature. I made a bookshelf for all of my mysteries and it came up with some nice recommendations for me based on what was on my shelf. After figuring out the most cost-effective way for me to spend a bunch of money on books, I ordered them from ThriftBooks‘s store on Half.com – confusing, but cheaper! Here are the soon-to-be new editions to my library – Keep a look out for these reviews, coming soon(ish)!
Florida Roadkill by Tim Dorsey (Serge Storms Mystery #1)
Die Buying by Laura DiSilverio (A Mall Copy Mystery #1)
Time and Again by Jack Finney
One Bad Apple by Sheila Connolly (Orchard Mystery #1)
A Sheetcake Named Desire by Jacklyn Brady (A Piece of Cake Mystery #1)
Fatal Fixer Upper by Jenny Bentley (A Do-It-Yourself Mystery #1)
A Killer Plot by Ellery Adams (A Books by the Bay Mystery #1)
A Killing in Antiques by Mary Moody (A Lucy St. Elmo Antiques Mystery #1)
Town in a Blueberry Jam by B.B. Haywood (A Candy Holliday Mystery #1)
Numbers by Rachel Ward (Numbers #1)
Well, all of these sound really promising and I’m really excited to read them, especially Numbers! I saw it on GoodReads a long time ago and have been anxious to get my hands on a copy of this book even since I saw it, so I really hope I didn’t build it up too much in my mind.
CROSSED (MATCHED #2) – ALLY CONDIE
I just started reading two new books that I was really interested to read: Crossed by Ally Condie, the sequel to Matched. I really enjoyed the first book, just short of giving it 5 stars, which is still debatable because I really liked it! I’m always wary of sequels – especially if I liked the first book a lot – because of course, a sequel is always different and sometimes they take me to places I don’t expect. I’m only a few chapters into it right now so I’m optimistic and interested to see where the story will take me from here!
SHIVER (WOLVES OF MERCY FALLS #1) BY MAGGIE STIEFVATER
The second book I just started is the first book in Maggie Stiefvater’s Wolves of Mercy Falls series, Shiver. I’ve liked most of the popular YA novels I’ve read so far (a la Matched, Delirium, The Hunger Games, Twilight, etc) and those ones have surprised me at how much I liked them. I was a little hesitant to pick this one up because I’m not one for the wolf/werewolf theme, but there was no denying how often I saw it pop up on GoodReads everywhere I looked. When I saw it in a Goodwill the other day (a GREAT place to buy used books, by the way), I couldn’t pass it up. Again, only a few chapters in, but so far I’m interested. I’ve only briefly gotten an overview of Grace’s backstory and the introduction of the first meeting/incident between her and Sam. Very interested to see how the story will go and I hope it’s just as good as the reviews I’ve seen!
