Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Let’s all say hello to Debbi from DEBtastic Reads!

TheBlog

Name & Blog Name: Debbi Michiko Florence, DEBtastic Reads!
Tell us a little about your blog! On my blog, I feature interviews with authors of children’s books, mostly focusing on MG and YA. I also share my reading raves. I don’t call myself a reviewer, though. I basically like to talk up good books and authors.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I love all the interviews I do with children’s authors! I love giving away copies of books, too, which I do with every Spotlight Interview.
Got anything special coming up we should know about?
I have more interviews coming up – one with Dianne Ochiltree and one with Vivian Vande Velde! (and yes, free books!)

TheBook

Whatcha reading? The Moon & More by Sarah Dessen
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I bought it at my local indie bookstore, Bank Square Books.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I love love love all of Sarah Dessen’s books. HUGE fan!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I’m only on chapter four, but already hooked. Sarah Dessen has an amazing talent for hooking the reader from page one. I always fall in love with her characters. I’m pretty sure I’ll be recommending it after I finish reading it!

TheBeverage1

Whatcha drinking? Japanese green tea.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Coffee or tea. I’m recently back from an amazing trip to Japan so I’m favoring tea right now.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Oh this is so hard, because it depends on my mood. Favorite hot drink would be a rice milk mocha latte from Dana Street Roasting Company in Mountain View, CA. Favorite cold drink treat is root beer (which I have rarely).

Bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Argh! Another hard question! 🙂  Off the top of my head, books that I’d read over and over: The President’s Daughter series by Ellen Emerson White (four books), See You At Harry’s by Jo Knowles, The Only Alien on the Planet by Kristen D. Randell
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Just the amazing fact that complete strangers read my blog and take the time to comment. I love this reading blogging community and wish I had more time to keep up!
Anything else you’d like to share? My favorite reading companion is my rat terrier, Trixie. She actually gets really excited and happy when I pick up a book because that means she can curl up on my lap while I read. When I’m writing at my laptop, she is relegated to curling up on the floor next to my feet.

Thanks, Debbi!! So happy to have you on Book and a Beverage! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

I like Sarah Dessen but haven’t read any of her books lately. I definitely need to pick up The Moon and More and read it this summer. Sarah Dessen is perfect for summer reading!! Great interview!

I love Debbi’s interviews and taste in books- so fun to see her featured here!

Coincidentally I just finished The Moon and More yesterday. Dessen’s books are so perfect for summer reading. They are so light and summery but also cover relationship and life topics that everyone can relate to.

Lovely photo and great q&a, ladies!
