Name & Blog Name:  Jamie at the Perpetual Page-Turner
Tell us a little about your blog! Well, I started blogging in June 2010 and figured I would do it for a little bit and then I’d be on to the next thing and my little ol’ blog would be in the graveyard of hobbies I took up on the Internet. RIP Xanga & Open Diary. Seriously, I’m a serial hobby dropper. But here we are almost 4 years later and it’s been one of the best experiences of my life. I’ve met so many amazing people and have gotten so many great opportunities and have had so much FUN! I blog primarily about YA books (though I read adult/non-fiction as well), bookish related discussion posts, personal posts and really anything else I feel like. I always hope that coming to my blog feels like sitting with a friend over margaritas (or coffee/tea) and talking about books, life and how it all intertwines along the way.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!)  OH MAN. I love a lot of the posts I write? I feel like that sounds weird but I really put my heart and soul into pretty much everything I do and I range from silly posts to serious posts and some really conversation-inducing discussions. HMM but one of my favorite and most popular posts ever is Being Married To A Non-Reader — a post that went hand in hand with Estelle’s experience being married to a reader post. I also like my crimes to books post.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Hmm not that I can think of! I fly by the seat of my blogging pants mostly. My plan for 2014 is getting back into vlogging so maybe you shall see some videos from me? UMM oh Tahereh Mafi is going to be invading my blog this week!

Whatcha reading? How To Say Goodbye In Robot by Natalie Standiford
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) My Secret Santa gifted it to me!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? No reason really. I’m in between books and have been feeling like I’ve been reading way too many ARCs recently and I just wanted to share an older book that maybe some people haven’t seen!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Well, I literally just started it so I know absolutely nothing about it that a lot of my most trusted contemporary YA reader friends love it. So I can’t tell you much or if I recommend it. So how about I tell you about the book I JUST finished? That book would be Landline by Rainbow Rowell. WOW. I loved it. It’s an adult book so that’s important to know I suppose and it’s a story about a marriage going wrong but it also is very much a love story. I highly recommend it  but with the caveat that it IS different than Eleanor & Park/Fangirl just as an FYI for Rainbow fans who don’t typically read adult fiction. I thought it wonderful and she just continues to impress me.

Whatcha drinking? Right now I’m drinking an Agave Wheat beer! Doing a little pre-gaming before Super Bowl Sunday activities. And by “activities” I mean eating and reading while Will watches the game.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? TEA! I always seem to make tea when I read.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! I really, really love hot chocolate. Like real hot chocolate. For some reason it has just been a favorite. I don’t drink much besides water and tea these days but I can’t resist hot chocolate and it’s always been my favorite since I was a wee one. I was also going to say margaritas but didn’t want ya all to think I was a lush or anything 😛

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Well, that’s a hard question! I’m going to just stick with what I recommended most last year — Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein and This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Hmm. I honestly would have to say one of my proudest moments ever was a bit of a small, personal moment. I could think of a few things to say for this question but this honestly made me cry and made me feel like I was doing something right and keeping on with my mission for my blog. So if you read my blog you know I do a “Review on a Post-It” at the end of each review just as a concise way to summarize my thoughts if you don’t want to read the whole review. A teacher who reads my blog (she’s not a blogger) emailed me and said that she wanted to share something with me and told me how she loved my review on a post-it and decided to use it for her classroom and the students all write them after each book they read. She attached a picture and there was this HUGE wall of post-its. I cried. Felt really humbled. And honestly wish I could have blown up that picture to see what those teens were reading haha. She said the students love doing it and it’s helping them to become concise. It just made me happy to know I made an impact because I don’t feel like that every day.
Anything else you’d like to share? NOPE. Just that I love YOU, Brittany, and loved that we’ve met through this awesome and crazy wonderful hobby we share!

Thanks, Jamie! I absolutely LOVE the review on a post-it story! That is so awesome and incredibly touching! I also can’t wait to read Landline and now you have me even more excited!!!

Yay for some Agave Wheat! I love the art on that bottle, and of course, yay for Jamie! I can’t believe you have done FORTY TWO of these, B! You are amazing.

The class running with your “Review on a Post-It” . . . that is just too awesome! I’ve had moments like that in my non-blogging world and they definitely humble you. Jamie is awesome!

Ahh, Jamie is one of my favorite bloggers! So glad to see her featured here! That story about the post-its is probably the second sweetest thing I’ve read all day (the first being her post about what it’s like to be married to a non-reader).
