Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Emma from Mab is Mab!

Name & Blog Name:  Emma @ Mab is Mab
Tell us a little about your blog! Mab is Mab is a place where I like to talk about books and writing. I love having a good old chat on discussion posts as much as I love reviewing, so I aim to do at least one post of each kind a week. It wasn’t always a book blog, though – I started it as a place to talk about all the stuff I love, and soon enough the love of books took over everything else!
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Not long ago I teamed up with @Dorristheloris for a short story feature, and we both worked so hard at writing a short story every day for a week. I’m really proud of what we did 🙂 The round-up post is here: http://www.mabismab.com/2013/07/re-cap-and-round-up.html
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I’m going to my first author event in April! We don’t really get many near to where I live (why so London-centric, authors?!) so I’m quite excited! I also need to start thinking of some questions for the Q&A…

2014-02-28 09.57.23Whatcha reading? Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I was sent this copy for review by tthe publisher, as there is a movie currently being made of it (starring Jannifer Lawrence – YAY!)
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I have read a lot of amazing books this year already, but this one is just blowing me out of the water so far. I love a dark tale and this one is no exception.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I would definitely recommend it, and I haven’t even finished it yet! I chose to feature this book rather than the current YA read I have because it’s just so beautifully written and I really want to share the love!

Whatcha drinking? A classic Hot Chocolate from Pret (No cream or marshmallows though, boo!)
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Probably red wine! ha!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! It’s got to be tea, I’m British! 😉

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? It would have to be all three books from the His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman. The second in the series, The Subtle Knife, is my favourite book of all time and the character of Will is THE BEST character ever. In YA and possibly the world 😉
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I’ve been nominated for a few blogging awards which is a really nice feeling, though not won any yet!
Anything else you’d like to share? Yes; My thanks! Thanks so much for having me Brittany 🙂

Thanks, Emma!! I am SO excited to read Burial Rites and I can’t believe it’s already being made into a movie! That’s so awesome. And Jennifer Lawrence! I’m SUPER excited for that now too!!
I also love having a glass of wine with reading! Don’t wine and books just go together? 😉

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Emma! You can find out more about Emma at her blog, Mab is Mab, on TwitterFacebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Goodreads!
