Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Nicole from Feed Your Fiction Addiction!
Name & Blog Name: Hi! I’m Nicole from Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Tell us a little about your blog! My blog is very aptly named because sometimes I do think I’m a little obsessed with books, and blogging definitely helps feed that addiction! I post a mix of reviews—lots of paranormal, fantasy and contemporary, both YA and NA (with some other genres and age ranges thrown in occasionally). I also love to write discussion posts and feature author interviews, giveaways and more! Feed Your Fiction Addiction has something for everyone (at least that’s my goal)!
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Oooh, this is such a tough question! One that definitely stands out was my April Fools’ review of the dictionary. I’ve never had so much fun writing a post! At the time, it didn’t say April Fools’ in the title, and lots of people were fooled (at least at first). I think one of my favorite discussion posts was Let’s Discuss: I’m a Disorganized Blogger. Thank goodness I was able to join your 2015 Book Blogger Organization Challenge, Brittany!
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Right now, the thing I’m most excited about is the 2015 Book Blog Discussion Challenge that I’m co-hosting with Shannon from It Starts at Midnight. Already in January, we have more than 50 discussion posts linked up, and I’ve loved talking books with my fellow bloggers! Sign-ups are open all year long, so come join us (or, at least come check out all of the discussions you’ve been missing out on!).
Whatcha reading? Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I got this book at BEA back in May (and was able to get it signed! Yay!).
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I recently did a Top Ten Tuesday feature on the 2014 releases I hadn’t gotten to yet, and this was one of them. It inspired me to get going on those books! I’ve already read another book on the list (Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins), and so I decided to pick up this one next. (I’m also reading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, which is awesome, but that one’s on my Kindle and, let’s face it, a picture of my Kindle just isn’t nearly as exciting.)
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Honestly, I just started reading it, so I haven’t gotten very far. But I’ve heard amazing things about the book, so I have very high hopes! Check out my blog in a week or two to see my review!
Whatcha drinking? A white chocolate mocha from Starbucks! (And, later, Evolution Fresh orange juice.)
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? I drink coffee first thing in the morning, and then usually just switch to water for most of the rest of the day. Ironically, I just started drinking coffee a few months ago. Before that, I hated it, but I decided that I needed the caffeine (I’m not a morning person!), so I forced myself to start drinking it.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Cheggnog (an eggnog chai latte) from Starbucks! I discovered this drink over the Christmas season this year, and I LOVE it!
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Oh, Boise! These questions are so hard! Okay, I’m just going with the first three I think of, and I’m going to try not to overthink it. Let’s see, in the NA category, I’ve been raving about Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover ever since I read it last year. If someone’s a fan of dystopians, I always recommend the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman because it’s AMAZING and doesn’t get as much attention as a lot of other YA dystopians. And for sci-fi/fantasy, I always push the Starbound series by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I think my proudest moments have been when authors have reached out to me about my reviews of their books. I honestly LOVE spreading the word about books that I love, and it’s exciting when an author acknowledges that! Oh, and meeting authors and tons of other bloggers at BEA—that was a fantastic experience!
Anything else you’d like to share? Not specifically, but I SO appreciate the chance to hang out on your blog, Brittany! Thanks for hosting this awesome feature!
Thanks, Nicole!! I REALLY need to read These Broken Stars SOON. I definitely want to get to it in early 2015!! Thanks SO much for joining the Book Blogger Organization Challenge too! 🙂 🙂
