Name & Blog Name: Jessie H. from Jessie Reads Everything
Tell us a little about your blog! Jessie Reads Everything is my own little corner of the internet where I can post reviews, discussions, and tags that I don’t fit with the themes of the two blogs I’m currently a co-blogger for: Spines & Covers and Goldilox and the Three Weres.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Terri from Reading by Starlight and I did a Robin McKinley Appreciation Week to celebrate the ebook release of a lot of McKinley’s backlist. That was a fun feature. I’m also a nut for statistics so I track a bunch of variables for my reading statistics every year. I wrote a post about my stats for 2014.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I have a new monthly feature this year to report my progress on my TBR Jar Challenge. I have my challenge posts for January and February up.

book

Whatcha reading? Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I bought it!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? This is the second book in the Alpha & Omega series. I just recently binge read all four books in the series and I loved it! I loved it so much I immediately started rereading it as soon as I finished the fourth book. Hunting Ground was my favorite of the four and I’ve found myself rereading all of my favorite scenes over and over again. I’m slightly obsessed with this series.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? This book is part of the Alpha & Omega series, which is a companion to Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series. This series actually started out as a novella set in the Mercy Thompson world. The hero, Charles, made his first appearance in the first Mercy Thompson book, Moon Called. Briggs couldn’t get him off her mind and promised this character in her head that she’d write his story later. So when asked to write the novella she told everyone that it was going to be Charles’s story instead of Mercy. Briggs’ editor loved it so much that she asked Briggs if she could write a whole series based on it. I’m so glad she said yes! The series has everything! Werewolves, Vampires, Fae, action, politics, and one of the sweetest romances I’ve ever read. Heck yes! I’d recommend this book! I highly recommend the whole series! Start with the novella Alpha & Omega first and then read Cry Wolf before picking this one up.

beverageWhatcha drinking? Hot Chocolate! It’s a special mix that I can only get at the Preparedness/Food Storage Store near my hometown in Idaho.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Hot chocolate, Mulled Cider, lemonade, or Diet Mountain Dew is usually what I’m drinking
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! I’d have to go with hot chocolate because it’s warm chocolatey goodness! It’s just good for the soul especially if you add York Peppermint Patty creamer to it.

bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? That’s a hard choice! Today I’ll have to go with A Matter of Magic by Patricia C. Wrede, The Others Series by Anne Bishop, and the Mistborn books by Brandon Sanderson.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Robin McKinley retweeted my review of her book Beauty and discussed why she liked what I wrote. I about passed out due to the shock and excitement. I took a screenshot of the whole thing. BEST. DAY. EVER.
Anything else you’d like to share? I love the Book and A Beverage feature so thank you for featuring my blog on it! I love the book community so much!

Thanks, Jessie! YAY Mistborn! I just got into Sanderson this year and LOVE!
I love your affinity for hot chocolate! It’s so true though. It really does just warm the soul!
