Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Name & Blog Name: Hi! I’m Sarah and I run The Country Bookworm
Tell us a little about your blog! My blog is mostly about books, with a little bit of my farm life thrown in. I write reviews, hold book discussions and update my readers on whatever antics my animals manage to get up to.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!)
I recently put together a book discussion about why I review books. Before this post, I hadn’t actually thought about why I do it, but there’s a lot more reasons than to just sum up the book.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I’m working on a Bookish Gift Buying Guide that will be two parts. I’m taking part in The Broke and the Bookish Secret Santa, as well as the end of the year survey hosted by The Perpetual Page Turner.

book

Whatcha reading? Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc):
I purchased it at my local bookstore when they hosted a Fierce Reads tour stop. I got to meet Leigh and get it autographed.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I am currently reading it and I think it’ll end up being one my favorite books of 2015.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? This book is a perfect example of Leigh Bardugo’s world building skills. Within the first chapter alone you feel like you’ve lived in Ketterdam for years and know just what daily life is like there. I cant remember ever reading a book that had me so immersed so quickly. I recommend it for lovers of all genres as it is enjoyable for adults and YA audiences and has elements of fantasy, crime and even a little romance.

beverage

Whatcha drinking? Spiced apple cider with Krupnikas, a Lithuanian spiced honey liqueur from The Brother’s Vilgalys Spirits Company, in Durham, North Carolina
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Anything warm! Coffee, hot cocoa, apple cider…
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Trapiche Malbec! Or a vanilla milkshake, depending on my mood

bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The All Souls Trilogy and Night Film.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Hmm…I can’t think of anything in particular. In general I am just proud of myself for finally starting a book blog and making an effort to find time to read and blog every day.
Anything else you’d like to share? I love animals, mostly dogs and horses and I am always looking for more book and animal loving friends. I am a Yankee transplant in North Carolina who has given in and started saying “y’all” a lot.

Thanks, Sarah! So glad you’re loving Six of Crows! Leigh Bardugo is just fantastic. I can’t wait to see your holiday gift guides! I just put one together myself! 😀 And Happy Thanksgiving!!!
