Book and a Beverage [134] – Tamara from Tamaraniac

Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Tamara from Tamaraniac!

Name & Blog Name:  Tamara & Tamaraniac
Tell us a little about your blog! I started Tamaraniac almost two years ago to have somewhere to post book reviews and photography, and since then it has grown into something I work on most days and am actually proud to show off to people. While pretty much all of my posts are about book related things, I named it something a little more open so I don’t feel like Ialways have to post about books. The name is actually a weird sort of “pun” on my name that one of my best friends came up with in middle school, and I just kind of adopted.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) This changes pretty much every week, but at the end of January I created a post with my tips and personal process for creating book photography, especially geared toward book photos to be posted on Instagram,
Got anything special coming up we should know about? In this new year I decided to challenge myself to spend more time and effort on each individual post on my blog, so there should be a lot of things I’ve really been working hard on coming everybody’s way!

book

Whatcha reading? Air Awakens by Elise Kova.
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I received it for review!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? It is what I just finished reading, and I thought that the warm tones in the cover image looked especially nice next to the hot chocolate.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Air Awakens is a high fantasy about elemental magic. I would recommend it if you really like elemental magic and if the summary interests you in general. Overall I liked it though the protagonist was a bit frustrating to me in parts.

beverage

Whatcha drinking? Gingerbread Hot Chocolate! I got this mix on sale at Williams Sonoma after the holidays and I really like it.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? I am almost always drinking water just in general, so probably water.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Chai tea lattes are awesome!

bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? I love to suggest Insignia by SJ Kincaid for people who like YA Science Fiction, Heist Society by Ally Carter for all those YA Contemporary / heist and conspiracy lovers out there, and The Accidental Hero by Matt Myklusch for anyone who wants to read a really fantastic Middle Grade novel.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I always feel super proud when people tell me they like any part of my blog, especially when they say they love the book photography because that is something I work super hard on. 😀
Anything else you’d like to share? Thank you for having me on your blog today!

Thanks, Tamara! I loved Insignia and Heist Society! I actually really need to finish both of those series!!
