On the Same Page is a feature hosted by Alyssa from Books Take You Places, Amy from Tripping Over Books, and of course The Book Addict’s Guide! It started off Alyssa and Amy reading a few books together, then Alyssa and I reading a few books together and we decided to all get on the same page (ha, get it?) and read a book all three of us at the same time! We have a lot of similar tastes and at the same time, we also push each other to read outside of our typical genres. We decided to make it an official thing and thus, On the Same Page was born!

So what do we do? Besides reading a book together, we’re bringing you different aspects about the book that we feel are important. Whether we were inspired to create a playlist, digging a little deeper into the history of that particular setting, or pulling our favorite quotes, each of us will be bringing a different side of the book to share!

We are also hosts of:

  • A Fortnight of Fright: Alyssa, Amy, and I co-host a Halloween-themed event called A Fortnight of Fright!  2014 was its third year so check back in 2015 if you’d like to participate!
  • The Secret Sister Project: We’re also co-hosts of the Secret Sister project — a six-month long exchange to promote joy, cheer, and all around positive thoughts within the community. It’s been described as a “secret santa but longer” and while people do exchange gifts, the focus is more on spreading the positive thoughts! If you’d like to participate, our next sign ups will be around July/August so check back!
  • ARC Tours (now closed!): We were also host ARC tours! (NOT blog tours, but ARC tours) We basically circulate ARCs amongst bloggers and readers so they get a chance to read some ARCs before their pub dates. All ARCs are either provided by us from our personal collections or donated/loaned by fellow bloggers/readers/authors. Due to the increasingly busy schedule and various complications, the ARC tour feature has been closed!

The Secret Sister project is essentially a six month-long program where each individual is sending another a care package each month. The care packages do include gifts but the program is designed to bring joy and cheer into someone’s life and the focus is always more on being in someone’s corner and brightening their day.
Our Secret Sister project is currently in its third round! The project runs for six months and the current six month spans are: August through January, February through July. It started off as US participants but we have been able to extend the project to Canada, Australia, and the UK! We hope to continue to extend the reach of the project and bring even more joy to all!
If you’re interested in learning more about Secret Sister, you can check out the FAQ page (initially created for round three) or the hashtag #OTSPSecretSister!
If you’re currently participating in Secret Sister and have questions, please contact your sister’s buddy or contact one of the hosts. Thanks!
