Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Wendy from Book Scents!

TheBlog

Name & Blog Name: I’m Wendy from Book Scents!
Tell us a little about your blog! Book Scents is my outlet to review and share my
thoughts on the books I read! I read mostly YA and NA. I started it because
after finishing books I just needed somewhere to put all my thoughts! My fiancé
got tired of listening to run downs of every single book I read. =)
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Hmm, well I like discussion posts and in this one I talk and ask about favorite reading formats I thought it was interesting to see what people thought because everyone has such different preferences!
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Nothing
I can think of! Oh, but I am looking forward to the Las Vegas Valley Book
Festival coming up! I love bookish events!

TheBook

Whatcha reading? Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) Bought
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Not really, it’s the book that I just started reading. I had been wanting to start it for awhile and then took a peek at the beginning and read a few pages. That was enough to get me hooked and then I couldn’t stop!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I’m
not very far into it yet but I have a feeling this book is going to be crazy! I have heard how crazy it is from fellow blogging friends and I am already going nuts trying to figure out what happened! I would definitely recommend it; I am loving it so far!

Whatcha drinking? Pumpkin Spice Rooibos Tea! Just bought it from Trader Joe’s to try for the first time and it’s so good! An awesome fall drink.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Hmm, while I love coffee, I usually read before bed a lot and coffee before bed is just a bad idea. I’m going to have to say hot water. Yes, kind of boring and yes, kind of weird. I think it’s an Asian thing! I drink hot water a lot and it’s kind of my comfort drink!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! This is tough! I’m going to categorize it (is that cheating?) Coffee-wise, I love skinny vanilla lattes from Starbucks. If we’re talking alcoholic, I recently discovered lychee martinis and they’re so yummy!

Bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? I’ll
kind of group into genres — for fantasy, the Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo; for paranormal, the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead; for contemporary, the Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (I talk about this one a LOT to people but it’s one of my absolute faves!)
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? It’s awesome when people will read something I recommend because it’s like, oh, they value what I think! Recently I got a friend to read the VA series and she has whipped through all the books and is asking me for more recommendations and that just makes me so happy!
Anything else you’d like to share? Thanks, Brittany, for having me on your blog! Now I’ve got to get back to Dangerous Girls because holy crap, craziness!

Thanks, Wendy! That pumpkin tea sounds amazing! (What can I say, I’m a sucker for pumpkin flavors!)
Estelle has said so many good things about Dangerous Girls too and I STILL need to read it! Can’t wait!!!

Okay so we know I love Dangerous Girls but THAT TEA sounds amazing. At this moment I am asking my husband if we have a trader joes near us. I have to find it.

Another great gal to feature! It was so fun to chat with Wendy as/after she read DG!

Dangerous Girls was definitely a fast and exciting read. That pumpkin spice sounds really good and really has me wanting some, too, think I may pick up the new pumpkin spice tea at Barnes and Noble 🙂
