Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Gaby from Queen Ella Bee Reads!

Name & Blog Name: Gaby from Queen Ella Bee Reads
Tell us a little about your blog! Queen Ella Bee Reads is the quirky title I came up with for my quirky little blog. Bottom line, my blog is a place for me to sprawl out and talk about whatever I want, be it books, some silly discussion topic, or even my love of infographics.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) GOODNESS. I think my favorite post so far is my Sarah Dessen infographic. I think Sarah Dessen saw it (she at least retweeted it), which is the COOLEST THING EVER. But also it’s a project I really wanted to do and an infographic I’m really proud of.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Mmm I don’t think I have anything special coming up next month. More of the usual, I suppose. Maybe a giveaway? Possibly a blog tour or another infographic. Definitely more Epic Recs (which is a feature run by Judith @ Paper Riot and Amber @ Books of Amber – they paired me with Lisa @ Lisa is Busy Nerding and my life is a million times better for it). But I promise to be entertaining, so check in throughout the month!

Whatcha reading? Veronica Mars: The Thousand Dollar Tan Line (natch)
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I actually pre-ordered this one, which I never do because WHAT IF I DON’T GET THE BOOK THE DAY OF I CAN JUST GO TO THE BOOKSTORE. Which is what happened to me with this one. I didn’t get it until the Friday after it came out. This is a travesty since Barnes and Noble does same day shipping in Manhattan and that’s where I live and I KNOW First World Problems but it’s VERONICA. FREAKING. MARS. Do you guys feel me on this one?
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Because it’s Veronica. Freaking, Mars. We covered that, right?
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Everything about this book is important. All Veronica Mars fans should buy it ASAP. All non-Veronica Mars fans should go watch Veronica Mars ASAP so you can be a Veronica Mars fan and appreciate this. But, if you don’t have time for that, go pick up The Archived by Victoria Schwab (for people who like Doctor Who or Neil Gaiman) and/or Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen (for people who love historical fiction or cross dress). Those are my two favorites of the moment. Reading them is the only way I know to make up for not being a Veronica Mars fan.

Whatcha drinking? Seltzer. More specifically: Soda Stream Seltzer. I’m actually addicted. It’d be really bad if this was anything but carbonated water.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Seltzer. Is that a weird answer? I have the little Soda Stream bottles for when I’m on the go, but also when I’m chilling out at home. I guess I also like to drink tea. But only during the day. Caffeine doesn’t affect me so much but I never want to risk it.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! SELTZER. I’m definitely a weirdo now. I also love Twinings English Breakfast tea with milk and sugar. I put that in the red travel mug I’ve had for 8 years or so now and take it to work with me every day.

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? I sort of already did that above, so I ‘m going to cheat and make this top four books (of the moment):
1. The Archived by Victoria Schwab
2. Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen
3. Bright Before Sunrise by Tiffany Schmidt
4. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? GOODNESS. I’m really proud of my blog in general. I can’t believe I stuck with it (and that I’ve written as many posts as I have). Oh, also, today I got an email saying I’ve been approved for a BEA press pass. That was insane. It made me feel so good about all of this blogging stuff I can’t even tell you. And, finally, who knew I could read 100 books in a year? Well, 2013 now knows it and so do I.
Anything else you’d like to share? Whether you guys already know me or just discovered me through this awesometastic feature, I just want to say thanks for reading all of my rambling words!

Thanks so much, Gaby!! Awesome about the BEA press pass! That’s so amazing and looking forward to seeing you again this year! 😀
I’m a guilty non-Veronica Mars fan but not because I didn’t like it! I’m SURE I would. Just haven’t tried it yet!

I LOVE YOU, GABY. But for real, all readers of Brittany’s blog, Gaby is one of the nicest, most enthusiastic, friendliest people I know. I’m fortunate to know her, and to be a constant victim of her book pushing skills whenever we are in bookstores together 😉

VERONICA MARS. I feel you, Gaby, I feel you. I still don’t have the book, because I’m not sure if I want to read it myself (the first time around), or have KBell read it to me. I’m very conflicted, and until these feelings sort themselves out I can’t buy either. Grumble grumble.
