Book and a Beverage [79] – Emma from Awkwordly Emma

Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Emma from Awkwordly Emma!

Hook's Revenge Book and a Beverage 1 Name & Blog Name: I’m Emma, and my blog is Awkwordly Emma.
Tell us a little about your blog! It started as almost an online journal and then evolved into a book blog in May 2013. I love talking about books (whether it’s a review, meme post, or discussion post), and I still let myself discuss things such as my own writing, school, Disney, Taylor Swift, Shakespeare, and more.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I have so many! I really loved putting together my Fifteen 2015 Reads series (the latest of which you can read here), and I thoroughly enjoyed “Girly” Books for Manly Guys, and finally, A Bookish Swiftie’s Recommendations.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I’ve got another Merry Christmas to the Book Characters post scheduled for December 25th and a spectacular giveaway at the end of the year. Other than that, it’s all a bit of a mystery to me! I’m excited to see what 2015 holds for my blog, though. book Whatcha reading? Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) Purchased. I was at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington a few weeks ago, and I knew I wanted to get a book. It was a hard choice, but I ended up taking a risk on it.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Nope, it’s just one I’ve been looking forward to for awhile!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? It’s a fun twist on the usual Neverland retelling, and so far I’m quite enjoying it. beverage Whatcha drinking?  Orange juice. I started Hook’s Revenge while eating my breakfast.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Probably an Oreo shake from the campus coffee shop (in warmer weather of course) or hot cocoa.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Strawberry lemonade, without a doubt. Red Robin’s freckled lemonade is the best. bonus What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Gah, there are so many. Definitely Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson. That book was very emotional for me. Also The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord (Max Watson is mine, y’all), and…The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. But it really depends on the person and what books they’ve read recently. For most of my friends, I’ll just show them my list of favorites or my bookshelves and say, “I recommend all of these.”
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Blogging-wise, definitely my interview with Sara Raasch (and every other interaction I’ve had with her in the past six-nine months). She is such a nice person and a good author, and I really look up to her. My more shallow answer, though, is when I won a 2014 YA Web Award for Established YA Reviews. That was an amazing day.
Anything else you’d like to share? I really hope that one of my novels will be on shelves within the next 5 years. We’ll see!

Thanks so much, Emma! I really need to start my copy of Hook’s Revenge too! I’ve heard so many good things about it and Heidi Schulz is just so sweet!
