TOP TEN TUESDAY
September 8, 2015

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic wasΒ Ten Finished Series I Have Yet to Finish

I’m glad this is ten finished series! Obviously there are SO many series that are not yet completed that I’m dying to read but sometimes I take sooo long to finish a series and it’s really quite ridiculous. Maybe this will be good motivation to finally finish them!

FINISH THESE SERIES

So these are the series I still need to finish! And the silly thing? I’ve sort of loved ALL of these. For most of these, I’ve only read the first book in the series (exceptions: Crewel World, Divergent — have read the first two) and I just really need to marathon the rest of these series to really tie them off!

I DO want to finish all of them… Except for maybe Divergent. I know, I know. But I really have fallen out of love with it. Even from when I first read DIVERGENT, I enjoyed it and I was intrigued but I was never quite in love. INSURGENT annoyed me at parts but I was left curious and now that I’m out of my dystopian phase and I already know what the big giant spoiler is, I don’t feel like reading that big, honkin’ book that is ALLEGIANT. Who knows if I’ll ever get around to it. If I do, it’ll probaby be the audiobook.

What series do YOU still need to finish? Do we have any of the same? Which series MUST I finish first?

I need to finish the Cahill Witch Chronicles too, but I completely forgot about it! Oops. I do hope you’ll enjoy Legend, I quite liked the way it all ended. And is Heist Society finished? I didn’t include it on my list because I wasn’t completely sure. I think I saw she’s writing another book -YAY!- but I’m not 100% sure. Anyway, I love that series so I hope you’ll enjoy it too.

    Great list! πŸ™‚

I usually get addicted to a series and go straight to the end if it’s already published. The only one I really want to finish but haven’t got read book 2&3 is the Taken trilogy. I also haven’t read the second book in the Talon series but I don’t know yet if I will.

  3. Jessica @ a GREAT read

So much Divergent! I’ve read from these that series, Legend, Lies Beneath–if this is Anne Greenwood Brown. The rest are ones I’ve never wanted to start. So many series out there! And I still have series in my TBR pile that are completed, yet I need to start! LOL! A topic for another day!

    Here’s my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

I need to finish The Blue Blood series. It is such a different take on the whole vampire genre that I don’t want it to end.

  5. Dee

i tried to read Allegiant before I found out about the huge spoiler and it was just horrible – i couldn’t track who was who – it was like it was written by someone completely different…I think I made it to 100pgs because it happily got moved to my DNF pile

Of all of these, Divergent is the only series I’ve finished. I can’t even believe that because I’m totally in the minority of the WORLD on that one. Don’t hit me, world! I totally want to read these others, though, and I’ve started a lot of these series but for some reason I just haven’t read them completely! WHY WHY WHY.

  7. Morgan @ Gone with the Words

UNSPOKEN!!!!! You must finish it! Soooooo good and funny and shippy and creepy. They are super fast read and great for binge reading bc cliffhangers!!! Plus they would be perfect spooky October reading πŸ™‚

I don’t think I’m going to finish Cahill Witch Chronicles either :/ I loved the first book and read the second. Got a little ways into the third, put it down and….. don’t care that much unfortunately. I wish I did. Not sure about Reboot, I liked it a lot but it’s been so long since I read it.

I’m glad to hear you’re still planning on finishing all of these…with the exception of Divergent. Honestly, that series never lived up to the hype for me either. I don’t know if I could name the top ten series I still need to finish…I tend to forget about the ones I don’t want to finish, and just go finish the ones I do want to read! But then again, I’m not a crazy book blogger who has a million books to review for my fans πŸ™‚

  9. Ginger @ GReads!

I completely forgot about The Body Finder series! That’s one I started and never picked back up. I remember the first book completely freaking me out though (I don’t do scary well). I don’t blame you on the Divergent thing. If I hadn’t read them just as they were coming out, I don’t know that I would now. I liked them at the time, but not so sure they’re a favorite any more.

  10. Lauren

I totally understand how you feel about Divergent. I have actually finished the series, but I know my thoughts are totally different now than when I read them. I LOVED Divergent, but it was like my 10th YA book I had read so at the time I thought it was amazing… now if I read it, Divergent would still be awesome, Insurgent would be not so good and Allegiant would be tossed into the cull pile :/ And it sucks that you got spoiled for that book… so many people did, and while I didn’t like it in hindsight and say it’s not worth a read (HA), it still shouldn’t be spoiled for anyone πŸ™

BUT YOU NEED TO FINISH UNSPOKEN! OMG I binged read that series in July and couldn’t pull myself away… soooo soo good. I book push it so hard haha. Crewel World is on my list too, I need to do a reread of book one though!

Awesome List brittany! And I love the graphic you made for it πŸ™‚

  11. Tanya

Love your graphic, Brittany! That looks so great! πŸ™‚ I think I’ve only read two of the series you list. One is Divergent. If you’re not excited about finishing the series I would probably skip Allegiant. I’m sure it’s no secret that a lot of people were disappointed by that one (to put it mildly). Time Between Us… is that the duology by Tamara Ireland Stone? If so, I’ve read those and enjoyed them. I’ve seen some people say the second book wasn’t necessary but I enjoyed the continuation of Anna and Bennett’s story. πŸ™‚
