Top Ten Tuesday – November 13, 2012: Top Ten Books I’d Want On A Deserted Island

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish!

This Week’s Topic is: Top Ten Books  I’d Want On A Deserted Island

So these books will be my bread & butter – The books I could read over and over and over and over again. Easy peasy.

MY TOP TEN DESERT ISLAND CHOICES
(in no particular order)

There you have it!

Honorable mention: The Princess Bride (but I know the movie by heart)
Wow, this was actually really hard! I went through my Goodreads favorites list and came up with these top 10 books that I could read forever. I’m actually surprised that so many were contemporary! Way to go, contemp for becoming more abundant in my life 🙂

How could I leave the Princess Bride off my list? It’s my all time favourite book. I have half a dozen different editions and when my dvd broke I was devastated and had to replace it… a little obsessive perhaps… /shifty

I started reading Anna and the French kiss yesterday and I’m really enjoying it so far. I can understand why you’ve put it on your list.

One for the Money is a great one too – I love Morelli and Stephanie in that book. The movie… no so great but the book I can (and have) read over and over again.

    Great list 🙂

Fun category. This is going to be challenging because my books are all in storage so I have to go by memory (which at my age is faulty). I would take Ellen Emerson White’s The President’s Daughter series (four books), Barbara Kingsolver’s The Poisonwood Bible, Anna & the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle, We Are In A Book! by Mo Willems, and Plain Kate by Erin Bow. There are more, but these are the ones that came to me first. 🙂

Anna and the French Kiss would be a great one to read! If I owned a copy it would have been on my list, I stuck to ones that were on my shelf only 🙂

I almost included Anna and the French Kiss on my list, too. But I definitely wanted Meg Cabot, And they are kind of similar. Well, I mean, they kind of make me feel the same (sort of). I don’t know what I’m trying to say 🙂

    Heck yeah to HP!!

Oh yes, I’d like to have Anna and the French Kiss on the island with me too! That book just makes me so happy, and I think I’d need a book like it if I was all alone on an island. It would keep my spirits up:) Such a fun category this week!

I might also have to sneak in the Spellmans and Stephanie Plum, but I don’t know that I could pick one out of either series. I am really afraid of being on a desert island NEVER knowing what happens next to my favorite characters!

Ooh, the Spellman files is a GREAT choice!! And the Hunger Games, what a great book for a desert island!

Every list I look at I find another book that I forgot to include on mine! I loved The Sky is Everywhere and Anna and the French Kiss, and I can’t believe I forgot to include them on my list! (Although if I included every single book I’d forgotten I’d be well into the 100’s by now…) Great list!

Anna and the French Kiss I keep seeing everywhere! I think I need to read it soon. Along with Tiger Lily. They both look really good! 🙂

    Great list.
